June is Pride Month
Every June, the LGBTQ community celebrates pride in their sexual identity. Each day of the month is dedicated to a different sexual orientation. The calendar features the corresponding Pride flags. Inspired by these colors and designs, we offer matching sets. Celebrate Pride Month with us!
Pride is the chosen term for the feeling of LGBTQ people who are open and honest about themselves, their sexual orientation, and their identity, instead of conforming to the values of a heterosexual society considered normal, justifying themselves, hiding, or feeling ashamed. Pride Month aims to raise awareness among the wider public that sexual orientation and self-determination must be fundamentally human rights, and that many members of the LGBTQ community are among the most talented, intelligent, and influential people who are or have been alive today.
June was chosen as Pride Month to commemorate the resistance of LGBTQ community members who defied the ongoing repression by the New York City Police Department in June 1969. These clashes became known as the Stonewall Riots, centered on the Stonewall Inn at the corner of Christopher Street and 7th Avenue in Greenwich Village, New York. Christopher Street Day (CSD) is named after Christopher Street.
